Sep-17-10 The World vs N Pogonina, 2010 (replies)

lvlaple: I don't get a4 in the forseeable future. I just don't get it at all. I'm all in favour of supporting an e4 push: Ne5, Nc3, and the indirect b3, mobilizing the DSB and opening Nd2, which looks like an ideal spot.

Dec-11-06 The World vs A Nickel, 2006 (replies)

lvlaple: Bxg7 and for the record, Qd8 is my vote.

   Nov-22-06 Maroczy vs O Tenner, 1926 (replies)

lvlaple: Heh. I got it! Of course, I thought it won a bishop, although White decided it would cost him the game too.

   Nov-20-06 P Strauss vs P Funk, 2000 (replies)

lvlaple: I'll say! Maybe move 24 could've been White's opportunity to haul back the knight.

   Nov-18-06 B Belopolsky vs B M Kogan, 1984 (replies)

lvlaple: Heh, if you have a queen on h1 and another on h7 and an enemy piece on e5... Qh1xe5

Nov-18-06 Portisch vs Keres, 1969 (replies)

lvlaple: Sorry, Stellar King. I think most of us moved g5 with the intention of winning the d pawn. Unfortunately, you have to win the rook.

Nov-09-06 Pagan vs Blackburne, 1883 (replies)

lvlaple: Worst GOTD in memory. That being said CG.com usually does an awesome job.

   Nov-09-06 P Peev vs A Haik, 1979 (replies)

lvlaple: Okay, that was pretty. Had I played it in a game I would've just started laughing.

   Nov-08-06 D Wright vs B Viglundsson, 1968 (replies)

lvlaple: Wow is White ever toying with Black here.

Nov-08-06 Kramnik vs Karpov, 1999 (replies)

lvlaple: I suppose you need the knight fork for this one.
