meetvirgo2005: My solution was f7+ first and then Re1. Hope no surprises there.

   Apr-01-15 M Romi vs C Staldi, 1954 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: Oops. Couldn't believe black could turn it around in that line. Got fooled. well done Chessgames.com

   Aug-14-14 Nakamura vs M Waxman, 1999 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: I considered both Qh5+ and e5 and opted for Qh5. However Houdini suggests e5 as better.

   Aug-08-14 E Maggiolo vs D Suarez, 1994 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: Guess this is my first Friday puzzle I solved completely (with Qg3 line). Didn't consider Rxe2 since it was forced mate in Qg3. Happy since I got the wednesday one wrong.

Mar-17-12 Vitacek vs Duras, 1900 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: Order of the moves is key. Only one forced sequence will win for black and that is the solution.Full points for today.

Mar-04-12 Tal vs Speelman, 1988 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: Got the first 4 moves in a few seconds. 22.Nxf7 Kxf7 23.Rb3 Qa4 24.Qe6+ Kf8 25.Rb7 (here I considered Rab8 by black and that is all I could go).Not bad for a Sunday.

   Mar-03-12 K Gerasimov vs Smyslov, 1935 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: I also went on the same lines as <Once> and <WinKing>. Didn't consider different order of moves.Glad that I have good company today.

   Mar-02-12 M Shereshevsky vs Kupreichik, 1976 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: It was a spoiler!!!! Feeling good that I got it right with Qh5.This week has been strange.Failed on Monday and Tuesday and got it right on the rest of the days. You will never get tired with chess...

   Feb-10-12 A A Lopez vs E Schiller, 2012 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: I considered 41.Qd2 and Qc1 before ruling out both for reasons I can't recall and went for 41.Rh8+ Kxh8 42.Qxg6 instead. Thought that will result in a weak black defence and a win somehow.Anyway no points today for me.

   Feb-09-12 P Pietinen vs C Randlov, 2012 (replies)

meetvirgo2005: Spent almost 20 minutes before spotting..yes as <phony> and <dzechiel> said, ultimately the thought on how to bring Q to g2 is the one which got the solution in a flash. Even if the Queen tries to be in the same rank , the black Pawns will harass her.
