   Jul-30-22 Pinter vs Karpov, 1993

okiesooner: 74...Nxd3+ 75. Kxd3 Kd5 should win for Black.

   Feb-20-22 Bacrot vs Smyslov, 1996

okiesooner: If 26...Nc5 27. Bc4 Rxb2 28. Bc3 wins the Exchange.

   Nov-17-21 Bareev vs Topalov, 2002

okiesooner: <There seems to be some interesting possibilities after 23.g6> How does White hold on after 23...Qh4?

   Sep-03-21 Richard Taylor (replies)

okiesooner: We in the U.S. are doing a miserable job dealing with the pandemic. People here are incredibly selfish. We Americans could learn much from New Zealand's experience.

   Aug-22-21 Keres vs Kholmov, 1948

okiesooner: Why would White play 14. Be3 after having played 13. Bd2 on the previous move?

   May-11-21 Onischuk vs Radjabov, 2007

okiesooner: After 46. c8=N+ Rxc8 47. Bd4+ Qxd4 48. Qxc8, Black can force a draw with 48...Qd2+ (rather than 48...Qe4+) 49. Kg3 Qc3+ 50. Kxg4 Qg7+.

   Apr-21-21 Steinitz vs Lasker, 1896

okiesooner: If 23. Be7 Qa6 24. Bxh4 Rxh4 25. Qg3+, White should gain a draw by repetition after 25...Kh5 26. Qf3+ Kg6 (or 26...Kg5) 27 Qg3+. Does White have anything better?

   Dec-18-20 Hort vs Portisch, 1968

okiesooner: If 25...Rxb3 White cannot play 26. Rxd5?? because of the bank-rank mate. And after 25...Rb4 as in the game, if 26. f4 26...Bd4+ blunders away the Bishop. Here if 26...Bb2 27 Rfxd5. The other White Rook can stay on the first rank to forestall a possible back-rank mate.

okiesooner: <fredthebear> Intimidation or the "Bob Knight coaching style" still happens in college sports, for example in women's college basketball as documented in this article. https://www.insider.com/players-say...

Nov-20-20 Keres vs Korchnoi, 1962 (replies)

okiesooner: Black apparently overlooked 36...Qxh4 and then overlooked another opportunity to capture the Knight with 38...Qxh4.
