my dad taught me chess when i was 6, and i learned by mostly losing to him for a couple of years, but once i started winning it was worth it.

i just finished my physics ph.d. (yay), so now i have a little more time to visit chessgames to pick up a little bit of learning from the smart folks in the forums.
