I'm rated 1986 because in my first real tournament, the 2005 World Open, I went 7-2 in the U2000. Hoping to become a master someday. I live in Philadelphia, I recently obtained a degree in mathematics.

paulgrow: Nice video on the number of possible chess games: https://youtu.be/Km024eldY1A

paulgrow: Apparently there is an actress supermodel named Moon Bloodgood who was in a Terminator movie. Her father is Dutch-Irish, and her mother is Korean. Does that help sreeskamp?

paulgrow: Something wrong with the game score.

Aug-19-07 Geller vs Golombek, 1952 (replies)

paulgrow: Patzerboy, You forgot that it can also be acheived through the recursive Czechoslovakia Backstab Countergambit with the 14. Qx12 finesse. Slightly more awesome than then Nangdangian.

Aug-15-07 Ruben Rodriguez vs Dzindzichashvili, 1976 (replies)

paulgrow: Looks like a certain endgame win after rook and queen trades. White can do nothing but wait, the black king will go to e3 and trade the h pawn for the f3 pawn, after which the f pawn will queen (unless the bishop tries to stop it, then the a-pawn will.)

Dec-03-06 Kramnik vs Deep Fritz, 2006 (replies)

paulgrow: 31. Rh4

   Jul-16-06 Wojtkiewicz vs D Filipovich, 2001 (replies)

paulgrow: This game was probably selected in honor of Wojtkiewicz who died two days ago.

   Feb-16-06 F Aleskerov vs H Cil, 2005

paulgrow: The position after 31...h6 is given as a chess puzzle in Soltis' February 2006 Chess Life Article. Maybe after 32. g4 black can hold the position with an immediate 32...Rg8.

Feb-05-06 Kasparov vs Karpov, 1990 (replies)

paulgrow: Quite right WannaBe. I missed that.

Oct-06-05 Topalov vs Leko, 2005 (replies)

paulgrow: Thanks RubinstienAK, very gracious of you.
