pwolff: See Fischer vs R F Mcgregor, 1964 for a game where Fischer's opponent plays 2...f6. The match ended in a draw!

pwolff: what about 19. Be4 Bxe4 (..Rxc3 20. Bxe4) 20. Nxb4 protecting the queen?

   Feb-27-06 V Yemelin vs E Goric, 2001 (replies)

pwolff: I found this visualization theme interesting. I'm working on my visualization skills, which currently are pretty bad (I guess it reflects my rating at about 1450:). But how do you guys visualize the board? Do you actually "see" the pieces on their new spots after a move? I'm thinking

pwolff: I got 50...Ke2 51.Nc3+ Ke1 and now white has to do some pawn-moves while black can move his knight to Nb6-Ka4. I guess it wins, but it's not the best move:)

   Sep-15-05 Adorjan vs P Ostojic, 1970 (replies)

pwolff: I think 30...Qf5 may be an improvement for black. Then 31.Bxh6 Rg8 32.Bxg7 Rxg7 33.h6 and 33...Rxg6 because now the rook is defended by the queen

   May-11-05 Chernin vs M Drasko, 1988 (replies)

pwolff: <WannaBe> 70. Ka8 g1=Q (instead of 70. Ka8 Rf1) and then I suppose white's best move is 71. Rxg1 with a possible continuation 71.. Ra2+ 72. Kb8 Kd7 etc...

   Jun-09-04 J Polgar vs L B Hansen, 1989 (replies)

pwolff: <Shadout Mapes: I guessed 33.Rg3 threatening Rxg6+> Wouldn't that only lead to: 33.Rg3 Re4+ 34.Rg4 Qf2+ 35.Kg5 Qf5+ and black can make a draw or exchange rooks...?
