Cuando siegues tu mies en tu campo, y olvides alguna gavilla en el campo, no volverás para recogerla; será para el extranjero, para el huérfano y para la viuda; para que te bendiga Jehová tu Dios en toda obra de tus manos.

When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

technical draw: "WNBA star Brittney Griner was convicted Thursday in Russia of cannabis possession and sentenced to nine years in prison — despite her insistence that she “made an honest mistake” and her tearful pleas for mercy."

I don't think justice has been served in this case. Unless Russia is waiting to trade her for some incarcerated spy in the US. That's probably what's going to happen. Griner for Growkovsky, deal?

technical draw: I mentioned earlier that my first classical music was Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker suite. I failed to mention that it was a gift my late brother sent to me while he was in the Air Force. He actually didn't know the title and called it the Sweet Daddy Siki. Now whenever I hear the the Nutcracker I think of wrestling. I believe that was in 1964. RIP José. When you feel sad put on the record of Sweet Daddy Siki and you'll feel better.

technical draw: This during the Clinton administration:

<Sen. Fred Thomson and Rep. Christopher Cox launched massive investigations into the Clinton sell-off of sensitive US technology to Communist China that led to the creation of the US-China Security Commission, which continues to investigate Chinese misdeeds.>

China has been a thorn in America's side since Clinton/Obama.

technical draw: Saturday morning gem, the finale of the famous Tchaikovsky piano concerto #1, with Anna Fedorova as soloist. Enjoy!:

technical draw: Anna Fedorova does a good job with the Tchaikovsky but Martha Argerich owns that concerto. Age has limited her playing but the recordings are out there so find them and thank me later.

technical draw: One thing that has changed since I started listening to classical music in the 60's, the virtuoso violinists were Jewish men, today they are Asian females. Same thing with classical piano players, mostly asian females.

So classical music didn't die it just moved east.

Despues fuimos a Munich...

diceman: <technical draw: Who the heck is Teresa Giudice and why is her every move a New York Post story?>

She is one of the real housewives of (insert location here)

I think:

1) They discovered a crime while doing the show.

2) She and her husband went to jail.

3) They divorced.

4) She got married again.

So maybe unreal housewives would be a better title.

<Tchaikovsky piano concerto #1>

Tonight we love!

technical draw: <diceman> "Tonight we love" is a perfect song for a classical piece. In fact most of Tchaikovsky's music can be sung since they are so melodic.

Say no more about Teresa Guidice. She already has her 15 minutes.

technical draw: The following are some strange statistics from D-day:

<The First U.S. Army, accounting for the first twenty-four hours in Normandy, tabulated 1,465 killed, 1,928 missing, and 6,603 wounded. The after-action report of U.S. VII Corps (ending 1 July) showed 22,119 casualties including 2,811 killed, 5,665 missing, 79 prisoners, and 13,564 wounded, including paratroopers.>

My question is how. How can 5,665 men go "missing"? Were they drowned and if so how come the bodies were not recovered? It's the English channel not the pacific ocean. Maybe they took a day trip to Paris or never got off the landing crafts. In any case those brave men deserve our respect.

  diceman: Battery History.

I've noticed, decades and decades ago. When I used batteries, they were typically <D> and <C>.

Today, <AA> and <AAA>.

The benefits of lower current draw, and things like liquid crystal displays. (which draw very little current)

And you had to use 4 to 8 of each.

<diceman>

Interestingly, sciencers later added the infamous "A" battery so that Aussie metal band ACDC could enjoy a longer name. As <TD> points out, this meant that you now had to use eleventy to twenty of each.

Another step forward for sciencing!

*actual fact*

<diceman> More on Battery history (great topic brah):

Interestingly, the first Genesis sans Peter Gabriel record included "Robbery Assault and Battery" which easily became their worst track ever. In fact, it took only 3 days for it to be (correctly) pronounced the worst song ever written. Ever. By anyone.

technical draw: I touched both poles of a fully charged car 12 volt battery. The battery can deliver 48 amps of current without resistance. My body across both hands has about 4,000 ohms of resistance. According to Ohms law I (current) equals V/R. 12/4000=.003 amps or 3 milliamps. That doesn't sound like much but it could bring the dead back to life or leave you shaking for a while.

(please can a real mathematician check my numbers?)

Thanks for dropping by I am suffering from a mighty toothache but cannot have it removed until the inflammation goes away. I actually tried to remove the tooth on my own but I found out that that is impossible.

Benzol: I can see why you were grabbing the battery terminals. Actually do you think you could jumpstart the plumbers ? They're moving with all the alacrity of a speeding snail. Even the builders are getting frustrated with them. 😆

technical draw: OK, guys want to hear something funny? For the last 4 nights I have been sleeping with adult diapers. I ain't ashamed. But the thing is after I bought the diapers the bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis) stopped and the diapers were dry. You must remember that I'm 73 years old and am starting to have old peoples problems. But I bet I can beat anyone here in a game of chess! Tonight will be the last night I use them and if there is no action then I go back to my regular skivvies (military term for underwear).
