French (Orsay, in the southwestern suburbs of Paris)occasionnal player. I love sexy chess full of sacrifices or deep positional games. So my favorite players are Kasparov, Ivantchouck and of course the great Alexei Shirov.

Among the new talents, i'm routing for Carlsen, Aronian, Nakamura (even if i hate his attitude off the board) & Giri.

vanytchouck: Congrats to Naka for this well deserved qualification. It's always good to see a player with his style at the highest level. No matter what the result will be fort the candidates, i hope he will be able to play his game in a very good shape. As mentionned a more mature and solid

vanytchouck: The Karpov vs Kasparov is a kind of "easier" as white have 2 knights so black only have to sacrifice the rook against one of them to secure the draw. MVL doesn't have this option.

vanytchouck: Good win of Naka against Adams who seems a little bit out of this league even if he managed to beat Caruana (who suffers a lot to confirms his new status).

vanytchouck: Even if 35...Nxf2 was my first idea, i didn't make it work. Then, I've been hypnotized by 35...Qxe3 fxe3 failing to see that white are obviously not compelled to take back and can simply answer by 36. Bxh3 ...

vanytchouck: < DrLecter: It's good that Anand lost game#2, he can now regroup faster and has a better idea of Carlsen's strategy and skills. Unlike last time, where he lost in between, and then played passively, not trying 1. d4 which would have boosted his chances, this time his body ...

vanytchouck: I've failed to see why this puzzle is a sunday one ... I mean, i've spotted 40. Txc6 to 43. g6 so quickly that i thought it can't be true. So i've spent most of the time to see if there was something for the black with moves like Qf3 etc.

vanytchouck: fisayo> Yes, everyone who did follow chess could notice Caruana in 2008/09 at least : Great results in super opens, in cat 15-17 tournaments and wins over top GMs (Morozevich, Adams or Short) at 16-17 were enough to have him noticed as a promising talent. In fact, taking a
