Following the game and collecting chess books are my favorite hobby activities, as opposed to actual study and improvement. Other time sinks are an unfortunate addiction to the Houston Cougars... and politics... and reading other members' bios.

Living near Bandera -- the "Cowboy Capital of the World" -- in the Texas Hill Country. I can be reached at; just prepend that domain with mask@. Surname: Eoff.

Soapbox section:

I'm a Christian, but IMO Christianity is somewhat misunderstood, including by many Christians. I believe the Bible and Christ's return was fulfilled -- as prophesied -- with the fall of Jerusalem in ~74 A.D and I don't think rituals like attending "church" have anything to do with the future life.

I also think of myself as philosophically Buddhist and politically libertarian.

"The cost of your favorite government program is the cost of all of them." -- Harry Browne

"Watch your mind." -- Steve Hagen (author of Buddhism Plain and Simple)

"Daniel's Prophecy Logically Examined: A Biblical Evaluation Of The 70 Weeks," by John Eoff (my late father).

"Behold, I Am Coming Quickly: Discovering The Time And Nature Of The Return Of Christ," by Ron McRay.

DrNyet: Earlier in this Henley "page", there were two or three mentions of the Church's Fried Chicken international tournament in San Antonio in late 1972. Yes, Fischer visited as a spectator and I believe I recall that he commiserated with the players after a round (or *the* round?) he ...

DrNyet: I have Kindle *samples* of Donaldson & Tangborn's excellent and amazingly researched books, "Bobby Fischer: The Early Years 1943-1962" and ..."Later Years 1963-2008", but the full books don't appear to be available from Kindle, Amazon, or other places I've searched. Does anyone know ...

DrNyet: I'm guessing this may have come up, but I don't see Jude Acers listed on the players page, though there is such a page (as "Jude Frazer Acers", found by searching on Google " jude acers" I believe). Is this an oversight, or because he doesn't meet certain criteria?
   May-27-19 Robert G Hartoch
DrNyet: Hartoch is mentioned numerous times in one of my favorite books by one of my favorite writers, Hans Ree’s My Chess, including in the section on a beloved hang out, Di Kring, where he supposedly lost a tooth in a fight involving a woman.

DrNyet: I'm finding that book interesting too. Had it on my shelf for quite a while before investigating further (meaning spot-reading for now). He seems like a good thinker and writer. The brief Silman review linked by the <whiteshark> didn't go beyond some comments on openings, but ...
   May-25-17 Gisbert Jacoby (replies)

One choice is to highlight and copy the game moves under the game and then paste them into your engine.

A second choice is to click on <review game> (upper right corner) and then on <view> (below the board where it says <PGN: download | view>). That takes you to the pgn with headers. You can then copy and paste that to your engine.

The first way is quicker and easier.
