Hello. My name is Connor and I am a dedicated amateur chess player currently living in the U.S.

Rating: ~2000 (Class A/Expert)

Favorite players: Steinitz, Botvinnik, Karpov, Korchnoi, Smyslov, Petrosian, Larsen, Chigorin, Kramnik, Keres, Tarrasch, Shirov, Nezhmetdinov, Marshall, Karjakin

I highly recommend the Yugoslav chess periodical Šahovski Informator (Chess Informant) for quality analysis on hundreds of current games by many of the world's leading players. I have been reading it for many years and have yet to find a more useful resource.

0ZeR0: <Sokrates> I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of Schlechter. In fact, I would go so far to say he doesn't get the credit he deserves from many chess fans. After analyzing many of his best games I came to the conclusion that after the unassailable big three (Lasker, ...

Feb-12-21 Ding Liren vs Carlsen, 2021

0ZeR0: <YetiBlitz> Well Carlsen had already clinched a spot in the knockout phase so presumably he didn't mind playing wildly. Nothing to lose.

   Feb-11-21 Carlsen vs S Shankland, 2021 (replies)

0ZeR0: <An Englishman> That's quite the amusing little game itself.

Feb-09-21 Duda vs Dubov, 2021 (replies)

0ZeR0: An impressive game featuring no less than five queens.

   Feb-09-21 L Dominguez vs Carlsen, 2021 (replies)

0ZeR0: Stupendous endgame play by the champ.

   Feb-09-21 Dubov vs Nepomniachtchi, 2021

0ZeR0: Very creative play by Dubov here, sacrificing three pawns to get a superior position. If he hadn't been under enormous time pressure, I have no doubt he would have converted. The key was after 40...Bd5 white should play 41.Bg7+ immediately which is winning. Instead, Dubov delays ...

Feb-09-21 Dubov vs Carlsen, 2021 (replies)

0ZeR0: A tremendous psychological struggle. Dubov makes the champ work for his half point.

   Feb-01-21 Carlsen vs Vachier-Lagrave, 2021

0ZeR0: <Caissanist> Thanks for sharing. I always find Karsten Mueller's analyses enjoyable and instructive.

Feb-01-21 Tata Steel Masters (2021) (replies)

0ZeR0: <saffuna> <Joint winners is a perfectly fine result.> 100% Agree. What happened in the tiebreaks was more than a little unfortunate for Giri.

   Jan-31-21 J van Foreest vs A Giri, 2021

0ZeR0: After 26.f3, black missed a win with 26...g3 27.hxg3 Rd8.
