   Apr-05-21 Reshevsky vs B Zuckerman, 1966

BwanaVa: This is not a Kings Indian Attack. Its either an English Opening or a KID (depending on how you classify openings).

   Apr-03-21 D Edelman vs Glek, 1990

BwanaVa: White-A kingside attack without a king to attack

   Mar-26-21 J Turn vs Petrov, 1929

BwanaVa: Nice deflection sac!

Mar-03-21 Browne vs Hort, 1975 (replies)

BwanaVa: Copy that, Perfidious. Still, one might think that a brilliancy prize winner over a top flight GM at the Biggest tourney of 1975 might perhaps jump the 6 collection line and be included.

   Mar-03-21 Hort vs Browne, 1976

BwanaVa: After the brilliancy price type spanking Hort gave to Browne at Wijk Aan Zee in 1975 ( Browne vs Hort, 1975 ), one can only imagine how badly Walter wanted to win this game.

Feb-24-21 Alekhine vs Capablanca, 1938 (replies)

BwanaVa: This may have been discussed, but why 27...Ng5-f3? Is it reasonable to think that Capa did not realize the knight would be trapped? Why not 27...Ng5 to either f7 or e4? Granted, Black has a bad game anyway...

   Feb-17-21 Fischer vs C Powell, 1964

BwanaVa: Just read the newest edition of the Donaldson book on the Fischer simuls. JD writes there was bad weather, and Fischer arrived late in Richmond. Fischer requested that players be seated according to strength, but many players had left due the weather and Fischer being late. Charlie ...

   Feb-11-21 J A Curdo vs R Byrne, 1994 (replies)

BwanaVa: Considering his record, I don't know that I would call John Curdo an "ordinary master". While not a titled player, Curdo (now 89) has won the Massachusetts state title 17 times, is a former US US Senior title, and has won over 850 tournaments. Curdo is one of those "Regional Champs"

Feb-09-21 Gligoric vs Fischer, 1959 (replies)

BwanaVa: Arguments can be made about the plus or minus of 22...h5, but Mednis labels it the losing moment in his book "How to Beat Bobby Fischer". His point seems to be that while the move per se is not bad despite the risks, the concept and follow up were faulty which then amplified the ...

   Jan-19-21 Kaufman vs Kavalek, 1972

BwanaVa: This game won the brilliancy prize for the 1972 US Championship (as per Larry Kaufman's comment following the chess.com obit for Lubomir Kavalek 1.19.2021)
