collodi has kibitzed 12 times to chessgames   [more...]
   Oct-15-16 Steven J Wrinn
collodi: So whatever happened to this site? It was a lot of fun and is missed.
Feb-22-16 FIDE Women's Grand Prix Tehran (2016) (replies)
collodi: The question I have is not why it is that Iran is requiring the foreign players to wear headscarves. The question is why the foreign players are participating in an event that does this and thus perpetuating the unequal treatment of women?
Oct-04-14 Nakamura vs Caruana, 2014 (replies)
collodi: Love the live commentary by the hosts and players, but can we retire the word "OK" for awhile, please!!! It is constantly and needlessly interjected every other second by almost all the players.
Feb-23-13 Caruana vs Anand, 2013 (replies)
collodi: Is there any live commentary by masters anywhere accompanying the live games, ala the Baden-Baden tourney with Laurence Trent?
May-11-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)
collodi: I agree with Grandmaster Short. This match seemed much too short. 16 would have given fans more excitement and provided more of a test of who is superior. Personally, I prefer a return to the traditional 24-match system, a long dramatic affair, and a real test.
Mar-05-09 Carlsen vs Grischuk, 2009 (replies)
collodi: Great game. A series of fine razor-sharp moves by Carlsen. Reminds one of Bobby Fischer.
Sep-14-07 World Championship Tournament (2007) (replies)
collodi: What an uninspiring first round!! All games drawn in under 26 moves. Is this the kind of "fighting spirit" we can expect to see in this tournament? Where is a Kasparov, Tal, or Fischer now that we need them? Or even Topalov? Awhile ago, Topalov was asked what separated him from the ...
   Aug-03-07 Mona May Karff (replies)
collodi: What an interesting life! Her life would make a great biography or movie! Are there any other articles, game collections, or references to this remarkable woman and pioneer of women's chess?
   Jul-20-07 Shelby Lyman (replies)
collodi: The chess puzzle, without the column, also runs daily in the Boston Globe. Remember the days when Lyman moderated the world chess championships of the 70's + 80's live on national television? Will we ever see such coverage in the USA again?
   Jul-20-07 US Women's Championship (2007) (replies)
collodi: Congratulations to Irina!!! Look at that million dollar adorable smile at Every chess journalist should bombard the news agencies across the country with the news + that photo!! Isn't that a better role model for young gals than all the other bimbo + celeb models ...
