My pgn (obviously wrong) had 41.Rc1 leading to the (my) confusion.      May-05-18 Tarrasch vs Mendelson, 1879   jeta: Black's fatal move was 12...exf5 vacating the e6 square, which allowed the time-gaining 13.Bc4 and 14.Kd5, etc. Instead, 12...Nh4! forking the Rook and f5 pawn (now attcked 2x) gives Black a playable game.
