Jan-12-12 Keres vs Boleslavsky, 1941 (replies)

malbase: There is a problem with this game. Move 12 by Boleslavsky- Did he play f6 or f5. The English edition of the Tournament give f6 or P-B3 but the move is in question.

   Mar-23-11 J Smorenberg vs A Bhuiyan, 2000 (replies)

malbase: The Knight does not get trapped. There is the move Nd6. The Black Q side pawns are awfully placed, and are on the same square as the Bishop. Black's game is lost with W 2 Knights vs a Bishop.

   Dec-31-10 Eliskases vs C Bielicki, 1962 (replies)

malbase: This game appeared in the New York Times in 1962, in the chess column. I remembered the game. Nothing new.

   Aug-10-09 S Lemieux vs D Feoktistov, 2001 (replies)

   Jul-31-09 Tal vs D Mohrlok, 1962 (replies)

malbase: This game is well known. It appeared in the NY Times, Chess Life and Chess Review, and probably a whole lot of other newspapers. It also appeared in Mikhail Tal's own Chess magazine in a game collection.

   Mar-08-09 P Popovic vs D Kosic, 1992 (replies)

malbase: Black has a weak King side, with a target at h6. Black is guarding from the position f7 with the Q at c7. So this puzzle was not that hard to solve.

   Dec-29-08 H Karner vs Mass, 1971 (replies)

malbase: Black moved the wrong knight. Black played as if memorizing a variation, but played the wrong knight. Correct was: [Event "US op"] [Site "Pittsburgh"] [Date "1946.??.??"] [Round "0"] [White "Evans,Larry Melvyn"] [Black "Kramer,Haije"] [Result "1/2"] [Eco ...

malbase: A game that appeared in Chess Life in 1972.

Oct-16-08 Lombardy vs Polugaevsky, 1978 (replies)

malbase: Lombardy had a style which Soviet players indicated they could not understand. Later on Lombardy quit chess for the priesthood and lived in the Bronx, New York.
