I Dwell With The Dead

Forced to die as I rage
I’m confined to this cage
In this life my heart has torn
Wish I hadn’t ever been born

Shadows beat me without shame
My lips speak thy holy name
I hear them laugh as I moan
Just leave me to die alone

I thought it best to make a stand
Poems of reform I hold in my hand
Red China my love I want to be free
Why have my leaders forsaken me

All my dreams for this nation
Have been destroyed by segregation
My pain from this tragedy is so real
Their response to my faith is KILL, KILL, KILL

A revolution is born to change my life
It’s taken away by the blade of a knife
Sentenced to death for being right
In my homeland I will die tonight

Now I’m lost in the neon rain
I have nothing more left to gain
The people I trust turned my trust to shame
Along comes a wind to put out my candles flame

My eyes on the moon
My hands on the bloody wound
My mind dreaming of her
My life ruined by the dagger

All senses are lost from feet to head
Protest signs make for my death bed
Eternal darkness is for being led
By the lies from which I was fed

In the province of psyche I tread
Along the stone walls I bled
Echoes through the alley are prayers I said
Goodbye moon, for now I dwell with the dead
