Jul-12-12  wordfunph: IM Chito, hapi bertdey!
Jul-12-12  gregory2188: api burtdey!
Nov-05-12  wordfunph: nice story from Bobby Ang's Chess Piece..

<During the 1990 Manila Interzonal, Florencio Campomanes assigned Chito as a translator for Icelandic GM Johann Hjartarson, at that time a candidate for the world championship. Johann said that he did not need a translator because he spoke English, but "Campo" was insistent and told him just to use Garma as his "boy". Hjartarson never realized that Garma was a chessplayer and indeed might even have beaten him in blitz chess.

Well, later in the year during the 1990 Novi Sad Olympiad, Hjartarson got the shock of his life when he showed up for the Iceland-Philippines match and discovered Chito Garma sitting across the board.

"You! You’re my boy!"

To which Chito Garma responded with a big smile. His smile even got bigger after he created a sensation. Hjartarson could not recover from the shock.
