 | | Tabanus: Hmmm.
The style of biography writing is constantly developing. It's really hard to keep track. |

 | | whiteshark: Hey <Tabanus>! I saw your more detailed biographies of lesser known players over the last few weeks and have been inspired by them to do it likewise. :D |

 | | Tabanus: <whiteshark> Grab one of those before it's too late. If I'm not sued, my next will be GM Yury Piskov :D |
|

 | | whiteshark: <Tab> Who shall sue you and wherefore? If I come to a player's page I'm glad to find some first personal information on him/her. There's nothing wrong with that! NO WAY! :D |

 | | Tabanus: <whiteshark> Agreed, I do get scared sometimes by the warnings everywhere, "may be copyrighted", well everything for the cause :D |

 | | whiteshark: <Tabanus> Aren't we both scientists? Proper quoting, source citation and all's well!
That's the way I see it. :D |

Sep-29-17 | | faulty: At the time I. Vistaneckis was born, the town was called the way it is called today - Marijampolė (7th largest city in Lithuania, population about 50,000). The name Kapsukas (after a Soviet leader) was only used during the Soviet occupation (roughly 1950-1989).
I. Vistaneckis was a tough positional player. but when he went on an attack, he could do it like crazy.
When Lithuanian SSR team won some European correspondence championship in 1975, Vistaneckis was playing at board two, and he scored 8.5/9 against strong opposition. If I can find, I'll post a few of his correspondence games (if anyone's interested).
And he was a very nice man. |
