Oct-27-09  awfulhangover: Congrats to Ludvig! (If Magnus is Mozart of chess then Ludvig is Beethoven?). Am I wrong, or is it so that Ludvig tends to get better score vs strong GMs than "weak" FMs and IMs?
Oct-27-09  parisattack: I think he is the Bartok or Shostakovich. Wow, is he on fire right now...fun to se his games, for sure.
Oct-27-09  Billy Vaughan: Hammer needs a picture here.
Oct-28-09  TheBB: <parisattack: I think he is the Bartok or Shostakovich. Wow, is he on fire right now...fun to se his games, for sure.>

I think the point is that Beethoven's first name was Ludvig.

Oct-28-09  Appaz: Hammer also deserves at least to be awarded his GM title in the rather short bio.
Oct-28-09  waustad: I note that even his Wiki page is a little out of date. Maybe one of the Norwegians who are active on CG.com might like to do some updates. Most here seem to write excellent English. All I could do is pass on hearsay.

Tabanus: He will probably remain an IM until it's changed by random, or until cg sees money in changing it. Such things are not interesting for net site developers.

Draw with Black against Beliavsky today. Probably White against Adams tomorrow.

Oct-28-09  frogbert: shouldn't be too hard to find some of the voluntary bio-editors here. the group of people editing biographies is bigger than that of admins...
Oct-28-09  GalileoPiccolino: Some wise-smart-a$s kibitzer(s) is/are bitching about his inclusion in the just recently concluded SPICE Cup, Texas-USA.
Oct-28-09  Ragh: <shouldn't be too hard to find some of the voluntary bio-editors here.> Yes, of course, they're everywhere :)

I updated the bio to say GM instead of IM.

Oct-29-09  frogbert: thanks, ragh - you were one of those i had in mind :o)

maybe "close friend" is overstating it a bit (i don't know for sure, but...) - "friend and former class mate of Magnus Carlsen" is possibly more objective.

moronovich: Hiring Magnus as a personal coach/trainer would not be such a bad idea..As one , in a way , gets 2 for 1 (Kaspy somewhere betwen the lines). :)
Oct-29-09  Ragh: done.
Oct-29-09  rogge: Hi <Ragh>! There's a typo in the profile, <Joh> Ludvig should be <Jon> Ludvig :)
Oct-29-09  zarg: Hammer draws Adams, still 2810 TPR, one to go!
Oct-29-09  Ragh: doh! its not Joh.. Good eye rogge!
Oct-29-09  Fincher: draw against Adams today. After spice and ETC, I realy think Jon Hammer in 1-3 year could be a 2700+ player
Oct-29-09  Billy Vaughan: Next to be Hammered: Georgia's Jobava, who's poking just above 2700 on the live list.
Oct-29-09  PizzaRap: Jackhammer

Long live 'Beethoven of Chess'...
Jon Ludvig Hammer!!!

Garlic Pizza for you with lots of Cheese...

Oct-30-09  Bureaucrat: Final game today. Can he keep it up?

Go Jay-Lou!

alexmagnus: Hammer drew Jobava (and the team drew too - Johannessen drew, Elsness won, Thomassen lost) ending the tournament with a 2792 performance.
Oct-30-09  zarg: Norway draw Georgia, and Hammer finish off by drawing Baadur(2696). That's make it 2792 TPR by Hammer with a 25 ELO gain!

Very well done.

Oct-30-09  Sofus: Og en takk til P.H. N. Godt jobba!

<Sjakkproff likevel?

Good, I really hope he reconsider that decision after his first year at the University. Being a professional for a couple of years, does not rule out a good academic career afterwards.
