Penguincw: Congrats to Vahe Baghdasaryan for winning the Aeroflot Open 2015, Group B. Entering as the 39th seed, he finished in a 6-way tie for 1st, but placed first on the tiebreaks. He scored 6.5/9 (+5,-1,=3) and gained 6.5 rating points (2400 -> 2407).

This performance should be good enough to achieve his 2nd GM norm (or perhaps 3rd); his TPR was 2619 and there were GMs from more than 3 countries.

Penguincw: IM Vahe Baghdasaryan finishes 4th overall at the Nezhmetdinov Memorial, with a score of 7/9 (+6,-1,=2). He finished the highest among non-GMs (there were 23 competing; he finished ahead of 20 of them, including top seed Gata Kamsky).

His TPR was 2618, and there were GMs from 3 different nationalities, so he does qualify for a GM norm.
