Nov-07-03		Honza Cervenka: Quite interesting game. If 17...Kxd5, then 18.Qb3+ Ke4 19.Qe6+ with a mate. Better was 29.Bxd6 as after 29.Rxd6 black could have played 29...Qc8.

Dec-26-04		percyblakeney: Both a pretty combination beginning with 15. Nd6+ and a nice mate with a pawn in the end.

Aug-01-07		ounos: Very nice comments by RV. Although just giving the best line for both sides isn't too enlightening :-/ One would understand better why 15. Qe2 wins if he additionally sees some refutations to obvious defence attempts. For instance, what about 15. ... Re8? If 16. Nc3 Qd7 and then what? Not obvious to me. Or about 23. ...Kb8, a useful sideline would answer what happens after 24. Qa6 and maybe 25. Nb5. After that refutation, it can be understood why White should play 24. g3

Aug-01-07		dx9293: LOL! This brought back memories of Steve Urkel on the TV show "Family Matters" which ran for I think 9 seasons in the 1990s. It was a VERY popular show. Steve was a geeky genius who could never get Laura Winslow, but he did wind up with the even hotter Myra in later seasons! One of his inventions was his machine where he could transform himself into "Stephon Urkell" and his DNA, etc. was completely different! Stephon was the polar opposite of Steve: cool, smooth, and Laura fell for him instantly. But invariably he would turn back into Steve. However, eventually (and I don't remember how it happened), Steve and Stephon became separate people, so Stephon and Steve coexisted as friends (sort of...).

Aug-01-07		attica: As <geigermuller> pointed out, white, Ferenc Erkel, was a famous composer. He has his own Wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferenc.... His operas are still performed in Hungary frequently. It is also possible to buy his music on the Internet.

Aug-01-07		kevin86: An unusual king hunt. The king was chased to a8-accross the board instead of down it. The winning combination actually lasted longer than the rest of the game. Neat little quiet intermezzo in the 28th move-avoiding the last rank mate possibilities-a lesser player would have missed it,to great consequence.
