The 3rd Torneo Magistral held during May of 1994 in Madrid, Spain was a category XVI event. Ten grandmasters competed in a round robin format. The participants were (in order of ELO): Alexey Shirov (2705), Gata Kamsky (2695), Valery Salov (2685), Evgeny Bareev (2685), Ivan Sokolov (2650), Judit Polgar (2630), Sergei Tiviakov (2630), Miguel Illescas-Cordoba (2590), Jorge Magem Badals (2505), and Pablo San Segundo-Carrillo (2470). 18 year old Judit Polgar claimed clear first, undefeated, with an impressive 7/9!
