Kaunas 1934 (3-4 March) Fourth Latvia vs. Lithuania Match (continuing the match series Riga vs. Kaunas with the new match name). <Petrovs scored +0-0=2> against P. Vaitonis on second board. Lithuania won the match 10.5-7.5 "Latvia", March 23, 1934, p.11; "Krusta-mikla.Sahs.Brids", 17 March 1934, pp.170-171; "Wiener Schach-Zeitung", March 1934/06, p.92.
Results Table correct table is "Centra Balss", 9 March 1934, page 6. I think this is the best table, as it is the only one that identifies both Tenis Melngailis and Arnolds Kalnins

I agree that the 27th move in the Petrovs-Vaitonis game has to be 27. Qb8+.
<<<Kaunas 1934> (3-4 March) Fourth Latvia vs. Lithuania Match> <I was not sure of the exact day and round number this game was played?>This game was played on March 3:
"Gespielt im Länderwettkampf Lettland — Litauen am 3. März" ("Rigasche Rundschau", 10 March 1934, page 14), so it was round 1.>
This was my original interpretation of this item also.
Interesting is the article in "Krusta-mikla, Sahs, Bridzs, 17 March 1934 by Tenis Melngailis. He says something like that the Latvian team was housed in abnormal conditions in the night after the first round and they thus basically had a sleepless night - and this was in large degree responsible for their collapse in the second round (perhaps <hemy> can translate it better).
Another item that gives the correct table is "Centra Balss", 9 March 1934, page 6. I think this is the best table, as it is the only one that identifies both Tenis Melngailis and Arnolds Kalnins
