Munich Olympiad 1936

The Chess Composition team Ernests Gize, Arturs Keirāns, Pēteris Keirāns won the bronze medal.

Atputa, Nr.623 (09.10.1936) http://www.periodika.lv/periodika2-...

At the same time, the Grand Chess Olympics in Munich also won the Chess Composition Olympics: Tasks and Tops. The gold medal was won by Germany, which was very serious for this guy because he was competing with more than 100 players who had made more than 800 compositions!

Bronze medal was won by Latvia, competing with only 36 compositions. The following conditions are evident in August, as Latvia's victory over the royal spirit: Latvia left behind 23 countries, including Austria, known worldwide as a strong state of chess.

This spectacular victory was won by 3 problem-makers, father and son Peter and Arnold Keirani and Ernest Gize.

All three have long been known in the chess world as outstanding composers who have often won many primary awards, not to mention lower prizes, praise and recognition.
