MissScarlett: <Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who helped them become one of the greatest bands in rock 'n' roll, has died at the age of 80.

"It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts," a statement said.

It said he was "a cherished husband, father and grandfather" and "one of the greatest drummers of his generation".>

Does <NoMatesHe>, our resident drumming expert, agree?

MissScarlett: Seen lots of old films recently, but my favourite is <The Angel Who Pawned Her Harp> with Diane Cilento, Sean Connery's wife-to-be.

<In her autobiography My Nine Lives, Cilento alleged that Connery was emotionally and physically abusive during their marriage.>

Bastard!

HeMateMe: Watts is a fine drummer. A jazz drummer really, who found a gig playing with a shiddy little blues band called the Rolling Stones. Turns out that Jagger/Richards would make their mark as fine songwriters in the pop/rock and roll genre.

Watts was a true gentleman, married in his early 20s, conservative life. Drove a big ass antique rolls royce

charlie having fun

<https://www.bing.com/images/search?...>

He said "Being in the Rolling Stones was ten years of drumming and 30 years of 'hanging around'." Watts wasn't fond of Richards being late to every single recording session and rehearsal. A lot of recording sessions were wasted, as some members were too wrecked to play.

Who would have thought Ron Wood and Keef would outlive Charlie?

The Rolling Stones "Honky Tonk Woman" Mandela Effect https://youtu.be/eCTkwbDeYR8

I met a gin-soaked, bar-room queen in Memphis
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride
She had to heave me right across shoulder
'Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues
I laid a divorcée in New York City
I had to put up some kind of a fight
The lady then she covered me with roses
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind
It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues
It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues
It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues

THE JAM

ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

In echoed steps I walked across an empty dream
I looked across this world, there was no one to be seen This empty feeling turned and quietly walked away I saw no warmth in life, no love was in my eyes
I stared a century thinking this will never change As I hesitated, time rushed onwards without me
Too scared to break the spell, too small to take a fall But the absolute luck is, love is in our hearts! I lost some hours thinking of it
I need the strength to go and get what I want
I lost a lifetime thinking of it
An' I lost an era daydreaming like I do
I stared a century thinking this will never change As I hesitated, time rushed onwards without me
Too scared to break the spell, too small to take a fall But the absolute luck is, love is in our hearts! In echoed steps you walk across an empty dream
But look around this world, there's millions to be seen Come see the tyrants panic, see their crumbling empires fall Then tell 'em we don't fight for fools 'cause love is in our hearts! I lost some hours thinking of it
I need the strength to go and get what I want
I lost a lifetime thinking of it
An' I lost an era daydreaming like I do
You can lose some hours thinking of it
You need the strength to go and get what you want You can lose a lifetime thinking of it
And lose an era daydreaming like I do
