May-04-25  areknames: <Hazz> RJF vs Kaspy would have been spectacular. In their prime, they were pretty much equal in terms of playing strength. Fischer is the GOAT only because his significance transcended chess.

HeMateMe: The English royals on NBC national news, tonight. It seems King Charles is no longer on speaking terms with Prince harry, and Charles might pass away within a year, perhaps hospice stage of cancer.

You have to respect Harry for being his own man, a bit of a maverick, not a 'yes' man. He's really just a regular bloke who got thrust into a very political world, England's royal family. "The Firm" as he calls it.

I remember when they were newborns, the Charles and Diana wedding was televised nationally, she the beautiful virginal bride. They had the two kids. All seemed right with the world. England's royal family has never understood that arranged marriages don't work.

I don't like Prince William. He just seems like a political glad hander. He's had his eye on the throne since age 14. I don't hate him, I just don't like him.

Respect for King Charles. He endured a loooong time as heir to the throne because his big ego mother refused to step down. Good grief, when she was say, 70 she should have got her ass off the throne and let Charles have a proper reign. Insulting.

Here, Prince Charles with Tricia Nixon, president Nixon's daughter

Another blind date from hell, as they say.

here, with Tricky Dick, before Nixon was thrown out of office for being a criminal

<https://www.bing.com/images/search?...>

here with Obama

much better, much more relaxed. Genuine friendship and respect.

HeMateMe: Genetic engineering is the future, a healthier, smarter, longer living populace.

I look at RFK Jr. My God, his genealogy will be eliminated in the near future. No one will look, sound, or behave like that MoFo in the future.

Ever.

May-04-25  stone free or die: Apparently "the (snooker) life" isn't exactly a bed of roses:

<<Inside BBC snooker star's addiction hell with house repossessions and failed marriages

<John Virgo has been a voice of snooker for over 30 years and is currently part of the BBC's coverage of the World Championship at the Crucible>>

"It was a compulsion that I [Virgo] struggled to get to grips with. By 1990, it was in danger of ruining my life," he added. "I was borrowing against the mortgage just to keep up the pretence that I was successful. Looking back, I see it was crazy. I think a lot of players may have had issues with gambling.

"You are brought up in that environment – hustling in the snooker clubs to earn a few quid and, if there was no one to play, you'd go in the bookies.">

Not sure if this story has run on the BBC just yet.
