Honza Cervenka: Lalic was probably pretty nervous or in severe lack of time playing this K+B+N vs K ending.

kevin86: Don't be cruel! It took a long time, and the technique was slightly flawed, but the checkmate was executed. Too close for comfort-as white was about five moves from a 50 move draw.

iron maiden: Finally, an example of K + B + N against K. The ending is so rare that some people never even bother learning it.
Feb-06-05   radix: Very instructive game.
Most chess books do not show how to mate with B & N against K.
Feb-06-05   WMD: Just remember these two rules and hope for the best.

1)Drive the king to the edge of the board.

2)Drive the king to a corner square of the same colour as the bishop.

euripides: 94...Bc6 would get the king to the right corner much more quickly.
Feb-14-07   TommyC: <Honza> - the time limit of the finish was 30 seconds per move.
Feb-08-09   WhiteRook48: I can only do mates with this ending from about 7 positions
