  FSR: Instead of Feller's passive 15...Bxf6, accepting a slightly worse ending, 15...exf6!? 16.Bf4 f5! 17.Bxd6+ Kg8 18.Ke3 fxe4 19.fxe4 Rc6 20.c5 Rd8! 21.Kf3 Bxb2 22.Rb1 Ba3 23.Rxb7 Bxc5 24.Bxc5 Rxc5 25.Rd1 Rc3+ 26.Kf2 Rd1 1/2-1/2 was Westerinen-Tennant, National Open 1978. After 14...Kf8!?, I wimped out with 15.b3 (instead of 15.Nxf6) 15...Nxd5 16.cxd5 Bd7 17.Rxc8 Rxc8 18.Rc1 Rxc1 1/2-1/2 in Rhine-Tennant, 1979.
Dec-06-11  King Death: <FSR> It seems Black can get equality against the Maroczy Bind, but it's tough to play for a win. The game you cite above looks like a better try than meekly going into the waiting game that Black got, hoping for a draw against a strong GM who gets to keep the draw in hand.
