the beauty of chess 23.Nf6!

Oct-17-15  Mating Net: Real nice. Black could not save the game with the zwichenzug 22...Rxc1 because 23.Nxd6 Rxg1+ 24.Kxg1 would leave Black material down, facing an opposite colored Bishop attack, and no King side defenders.

  plang: The setup with 6 f4, which is sometimes called the double Stonewall, is a favorite of Bareevs. 9 b3 had been played previously; 9 Qe2 was new. Black underestimated White's queenside play; perhaps 14..Nxd2 would be an improvement or instead a move later 15..Nxe5 16 fxe..Bb4. After 20..Rc7?Black was already lost; better was 20..Bxe5 21 fxe..Ng4 22 Bxe4..dxe 23 Rcf1..Qh5 24 Bg3..Rf8 25 e6 with some advantage for White. 21..fxe 22 Rxg7!..Kxg7 23 Rg1+..Kf8 24 Bxf6..Qe6 25 Qg2..Bxe5 26 dxe..Bc6 27 Qg5 would not have helped Black.
