WannaBe: Black should have resigned after 24th move. If not, after 26. ♖d7+

keypusher: The game was probably played on a 30-move time control (common in the 1920s) and black "didn't have time to resign."

  vonKrolock: <14...d7-d5> Or 14....♔d8 15.♘xg6 ♖e8 16.♗f7! etc or even 15...♖h7 16.♗g8!} - theme domination - and 14...♔f6 looks hazardous - 15.f2-f4! and the attack becomes very strong
Mar-03-08  aazqua: as far as I can tell there is no point to g5. h4 first seems a lot more sensible.

I might prefer 14...♔f6 15. ♖d6+... hoping for 15...♔g5 16. ♖xg6+ ♔xh4 17. ♗e2... with mate following very shortly.
