Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-12-06  jbcol: What would be wrong with 11...0-0
Oct-15-06  semislav: <jbcol> I believe the threat would be 12. Bd3! If black responds g6 than white can play Bh6 threating to move his Queen to f6 to mate on g7
Oct-15-06  crptone: <semislav> Sure white can play 12. Bd3, but the real threat is Nc7. (that's not really a mating threat but a plan.)

Both O-O and d5 don't address this threat. White should have played 12. Nc7+ Kd8 12. Qb4 ( )

Black should have played 11. Kd8 addressing the threat and making the position dynamically equal.

Jul-26-11  Nightsurfer: Instead of 13.Bb2 ... , White has uncorked the interesting alternative 13.f4 ... some monthes before in the Northern State of Germany, Schlesvig-Holstein, during the Championship 1975/1976 of the ELMSHORNER SC: R Gralla vs D Steinwender, 1975
Aug-11-11  Nightsurfer: The modest move 13.f4 ... would have been more effective than 13.Bb2 ... - that has been applied here in <F A Kuijpers vs Schneider, Haifa 1976 > .

White f-Pawn has joined the attack (with 13.f4 ...) 9 years before the try 13.Bb2 ... in this game right here (talking of <F A Kuijpers vs Schneider, Haifa 1976 >): just check out R Primavera vs F Palmiotto, 1967 . That very idea - 13.f4 ... -, that has again been applied 8 years after R Primavera vs F Palmiotto, 1967 and one year before this game here <F A Kuijpers vs Schneider, Haifa 1976 >, namely in R Gralla vs D Steinwender, 1975 !
