Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-29-06  kavalerov: Morozevich has played some pretty impressive games this tournament, but I think this one is my favourite. First of all there is 10. Na4, which is typical Morozevich, throwing the knight to the rim. Actually, White has a good record with this move, going 4-3-0 according to www.chesslive.de/. Then, White proceeds in vacating Black's Kingside of defenders, totally unconcerned that his own Queenside is falling apart (18. ♕g4!). Finally, he pushes around Black's Queen with a total disregard for any kind of mercy, such as 24. ♕xf6+. He prefers 24. ♖d2!, leading to the knight fork on move 26, which he doesn't cash in until the last possible moment. Then his ♕ cleans up the Queenside, and when she returns to the Kingside it's lights-out for Black. Just beautiful.
