Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-24-08  rob68000: Isn't 29.Nxd7 a much quicker win?
Feb-26-08  satch boogie: Yes, and with more advantage for White. Because 28...g5 is the losing move for Black. 29.Nxd7 wins the Bishop and next the Rook...

29.Nxd7 Qxf1 30.Rxf1 Kg7 31.Nxf8 Kxf8 (assuming Black resigns) and White is a Queen ahead. Since 2 Rooks are worth more than a Queen, this is probably how the game wouldve ended.

Jan-20-09  Morphischer: satch boogie, 30. Kg7 would be illegal because of the knight on f5.
Jan-20-09  satch boogie: <Morphisher> I realized my mistakes a little while after I posted that, but it was too late to delete it when I finally realized that... Sometimes I do tend to miss things. Thank you for pointing that out.
Jul-15-21  alekhinescat: Rest of the moves per 5/18/1956 San Francisco Chronicle page 20: 31. dxe5 Ne6 32. exf5 Ng5 33. Qb7 Bc8 34. Qxc7 f6 35. e6 Nf3 36. Rd1 Ne5 37. g5
