Mar-05-11  4tmac: This benoni line with the self imprisoned DSB looks strange but seems to work!
Mar-05-11  superstoned: What happens after 6...Bc7 7.d6?

simply 7...Ba5

Mar-06-11  stst: 1. About this game - the general feel is W was decidedly soft on a number of occasions, e.g. 18... Ba5, why it's necessary to flee the N, where W still exchanges for another N, then harasing the W Q -- Bk got a nice N dance then! On 26. Rb6 for eventual exchange with the resting Bk R at e8, W wasted number of moves. I would harass the Bk Q right at 26. Rd1 and also bring the b-file R into play to harass the Bk Q. 36. Re4 should go Rg4 so that W B got a threat on taking the f P, and releasing itself of later being trapped (or losing the c P.) The entire game, Bk played a nice N dance, W played passively with several obvious mistakes/soft moves. It might be lost earlier, but now somewhat quietly (overtime?)

2. On the entire tournament: I was advocate something like the Final Four style, where the Final Four played a cross (i.e. top v 4th, 2nd v 3rd) mini-match, with the final winner by a somewhat longer match (3 games). But of course, the organizer always want to finish it quickly, and this is one bad example, where the top two got same number of points. Some even worse example would be actually the final winner lost the the final runner-up, but they got the same points, and wins by virtue of some other counts.

At one time ChessBase asked who can stop Danlielian, and her picture showed a stern look. Things evolved differently, and it proves that appearances and looks didn't matter that much.

Look forward to a Humpy-Hou match (how many games? --- probably considerably less than that for men....)
