Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-20-11  lorker: Wow Ivanchuk got destroyed here.
Apr-20-11  computer chess guy: Rybka 3 prefers 22. exd6 ♗xf3 23. dxc7 ♘h3+ 24. ♔f1 ♗xg2+ 25. ♔xg2 ♕g5+, heading for perpetual check.
Apr-22-11  Helloween: I strongly prefer 8.Ba4

<ccg> What about 23...Qh4

Apr-23-11  Helloween: NOTE!: Black avoided the tempting series of 10 half-moves of exchanges- 19...Bxe4 20.Bxf6 Bxc2 21.Bxd8 Bxd1 22.Bxa5 Bxf3 23.Rxe6 fxe6 24.gxf3 d5 25.Ne5 with a pleasant ending for White, but likely drawn nonetheless.

I also meant 23...Qg5 on my previous post.

Apr-23-11  Helloween: This game is full of all sorts of treats! I just found 23...Qd5! which leaves the game dynamically balanced!
Apr-25-11  xanadu: To develope Queen Bishop through b2: it seems an strategic mistake for White, donĀ“t? I mean, not compatible with exchanging his King Bishop, becasue Castle has now only one defender, the Knight at f3, and sites like f4 can be occupied by Black (move 21).
Apr-27-11  Helloween: <xanadu>It's certainly not commonplace in the closed Ruy positions to fianchetto QS. White's DSB can sometimes be more of a problem Bishop than Black's LSB.
