Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-28-11  Calar: Horrible blunder from Svidler (36...b2) stopped him from turning winning position into full point. I wonder how dire was his time trouble.
Aug-28-11  fischer2009: Havent checked with a computer but i see some potential complications on the kingside with after Qh4 which makes me think a bit if it was an oversight.
Aug-28-11  Calar: But all White's threats on h-file can be stopped easily by Rh7, no?
Sep-03-11  DrMAL: After 13.d5?! b5! black plunged into very early Grunfeld Q-side pawn advantage, by 18...a3 white was sorely missing the a-pawn. The sac 19...Nxe5! would have been nice here (20.fxe5 Qxe5) maybe winning. Then, after 21.h4 Houdini shows 21...f6! as probably winning I did not see this at first but it's pretty simple. 21...e6? instead was anti-positional allowing the bishop on g7 to be blocked. Then it looked like Svidler set up a trap and white fell right into it with 28.Bxg6? he should have won but he played 36...b2? blowing it. Disappointing game but his trap was nice.
