Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-19-13  JohnBoy: About time - Naka was due against Hao.
Jan-19-13  haydn20: Hao played a few second-best moves and Nakamura played with great accuracy. After the mistake 28. Ra5? he was relentless. A really nice game for Naka.
Jan-19-13  Wyatt Gwyon: Congrats to Naka. Must feel like a monkey is off his back.
Jan-19-13  ChemMac: The mistake, difficult to see, was 20.Kh1. After that he chose to lose the exchange instead of being a pawn down after say 23 Nh4.
Jan-20-13  haydn20: I'm not sure 20 Kh1 was decisive or even a mistake. Seems to me White went off by opening the Qside with 11. axb5, e.g., 11. Bd3 Bb4 12. 0-0 h6 13. Be3 . Also later 14. Bf4 is more flexible than Be3. At move 17, maybe should choose to defend by Qe1. Maybe he should play Kh1 earlier (19. Kh1) to get out of the pins and maybe 26. Bd5+ was better than the game. Even if 20. Nb3 is superior to 20. Kh1, he game is not lost until 28. Ra5?, e.g., 28. Kg1 Nc4 29. Bc6 b4 30. Rd4 nxb2 31. Rxb4 Nd3 32. Rb1 g5 33. Bb5 and White might hold.
