May-12-13  DrAttitude: Irina Krush Wins again! This time without the typical tactical shot. The game is a classic castle opposite sides game. White castles queen side and Black castles king side. White misplaces her Rook on move 23.Rh4. Black weaves the trap tighter and tighter on moves 23....Qc5 thru 28....Bc8. Until move 45.Rg5 the White Rook is not an effective piece. This tactical idea of the trapped piece is not often seen. It is quite uncommon with a Rook. Great game Irina Krush.

HeMateMe: Should white have kept playing, to try and get a perpetual, with Queen checks?
May-12-13  detritus: Yasser Seirawan noted during play that 44. Qd5! was a potential resource for White. The threat of discovered check with 45. e7, and the fact that Ra8 isn't available to Black with White's queen on d5 more or less forces Black to exchange queens (44. ... Kh8, 45. Qxc5 looks pretty bad for Black), and after 45. exd5 White's LSB is activated, and is bearing down on Black's h-pawn along with the rook on h5. Not sure if White is fully compensated for being down the exchange, but I think there would have been a lot more fight in the next several moves than what actually happened.
