Dec-20-15  JoeBerylwood: Obviously a swiss gambit
+ statement.
Dec-20-15  justwatcher: He could have suffocated her, but I think he enjoyed her guts and did let her go!...

tamar: Carlsen lost all advantage when playing 32 Nb5 , shades of Carlsen vs Grischuk, 2015 (28 Nb5) last week.
Dec-20-15  Ulhumbrus: It is questionable whether White should accept the Benko gambit and it may be mistaken for Black to accept it. Black declines it by 6...b3 but even so after 7 Qxb3 Black has in effect exchanged her c pawn for White's less valuable b pawn.

It is not obvious why 9 e3 is premature. It is better to play 9 d3 first.

Instead of 10...exd4? the computer pointed out the zwischenzug 10...e4!! displacing White's N on f3 from its defence of d4 to be followed by ...Nxd4. This pawn sacrifice has been seen before from the White side eg in the game Kasparov vs Najdorf, 1982 where in reply to 17...exd5 Kasparov played not 18 exd5 but 18 e5!

13...Na5 places a knight on the rim. 13...Rb8 frees the bishop on c8.

After 18 Nxd4 Carlsen has the bishop pair and even the strongest players can consider themselves lucky to save the black side of such a game

Dec-20-15  choosea: can ms botashvili win or whats ?

Dec-20-15  kamagong24: another slow start by Magnus, he runs on diesel power and needs a little warming up :p
Dec-21-15  talwnbe4: 32. Bb4 or Kf1 is better but with maybe a 7/10 pawn advantage is probably drawn anyway.
Dec-21-15  whiteshark: "<Nino Batsiashvili> had the black pieces against the World Champion and lived to tell the tale! She said afterwards it earned her 15 new friend requests on Facebook..." :D:D
