An Englishman: Good Morning: Wild & speculative play by White enables him to take a half-point lead after 8 rounds. With 7.Bc4, the players had already left opening theory and who knows if Riazantsev had enough compensation after 18.Rd1. Strange indeed to see a pawn sacrifice for a lead in development in an ending, but White somehow managed to transform that into an effective King side attack with minimal pieces.

Yes; white's preparation was excellent.
Black really had only 27..Ba6 instead of Bb7 which allowed Rxd6 and the game was lost for black.

Are we ever going to see a challenging game again where we could be playing for the same side? I think it would be fun and enjoyable also for onlookers.

Best regards,
from your former team mate.

An Englishman: Good Evening: <kwid>, I don't know about any future team games. Because of my lack of software, never felt as if I contributed much, anyway.
