GrahamClayton: Juncosa was a player, teacher, writer and publicist, and received a gold medal for his services to chess by the Spanish Chess Federation in 1955.

Juncosa was reported to have set a new simultaneous blindfold record of 32 games in 1922, but research shows that he only played 5 games simultaneously blindfolded.

Juncosa published analysis of the opening 1.c3 in 1920, which became known as the Saragossa Opening, after the club where Juncosa was a member.
