S. Vulfsons finished 4th in the preliminary-1 group of the 1936-1937 Riga championship, earning the right to compete in the finals. He finished shared 6th in the final tournament with Leonids Dreibergs, behind Movsa Feigin, Alexander Koblents, Ernests Gize, Teodors Bergs and Fricis Apsenieks .1

He is listed as S. Vulfsons by Di Felice, Krustamikla.Sahs.Bridz. Nr.10 (06.03.1937), and Fricis Apsenieks biographer Gedimins Salmins. Val Zemitis lists him as O. Vulfsons.2,3
