Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-17-09  The Lone Banana: Ah, the perils of counterattack when one's king is in the center of the board! Perhaps better to evade the fegatello altogether, or white will fry your liver, as here.

May one suggest a pawn sacrifice for attacking purposes with 5. ... Na5 6.Bb5+ c6?

If you find yourself in this variation through move 7, theory suggests defending the pinned N with the N at c3, which also frees the c3 square for a pawn. 8. ... Nc3-e7 has slightly better results than 8. ... Nc3-b4, but the sample size is much too small to prove anything. The latter move, of course, admits of counterattacking with a "bishop two fork" of your own.
