Peligroso Patzer: CG.com may want to add the following game to the database:

Distl-Dozsypal (Prague 1910) 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Nxd4 5.Qxd4 Ne7 6.Bc4 c6 7.Nc3 d6 8.Bg5 Qb6 9.Qxd6 Qxb2 10.Rd1 Qxc3+ 11.Bd2 Qxc4 12.Qd8+ Kxd8 13.Ba5+ Ke8 14.Rd8# 1-0

Interestingly, the above game (which is Game No. 15, on page 18, of Chess Brilliancy by Iakov Damsky) was played in Prague (the city of Reti's birth) in the same year the following famous game was played: Reti vs Tartakower, 1910

Aug-25-18  Jean Defuse: ...

<Bohumir Distl> - Poet, Novelist, Playwright, Author of Musical Compositions.

Born August 8, 1883 in Anina near Rešice (Romania), died March 21, 1953 in Prague.

...

Feb-26-25  stone free or die: Agree with <Jean Defuse>.

Distl was also an author of at least one chess book.

As far as the Black player of the game cited by <P. Patzer> above - Chernev had <Rossipal> in his <Short Games> book.

Winter (or should that be really be Forster?) , gives it as <Roszypal> though I might suggest <Rozsypal> be considered as well, in that case.

Personally, I'd go with <Rossipal> until a better source of the game than Chernev can be found.

(I will do some searches on Dozsypal now. Distl was relatively easy to find in comparison)

Feb-26-25  stone free or die: Here's my refs on Distl:
