Jun-08-19 Yu Yangyi vs Ding Liren, 2019 (replies)

mrknightly: OK. I am estupido. The "pun" I guess means: Why (are) you hiding? If that is correct, how does that relate to the game?

Jun-05-19 Janowski vs Maroczy, 1900 (replies)

mrknightly: It's from a commercial:"I coulda had a V-8." V-8 is a mixed vegetable drink. Kind of like tomato juice on steroids.

   Apr-28-19 P Dittmar vs N Ferrari, 2001 (replies)

mrknightly: Would someone (Offramp?)please explain "pun" as it relates to game other than last name.

Apr-19-19 Keres vs Lilienthal, 1955 (replies)

mrknightly: Would someone explain the "pun." Thanks.

   Apr-08-19 S Von Freymann vs Botvinnik, 1929

mrknightly: The Odessa File

Apr-05-19 I Barreto vs Darcy Lima, 2017 (replies)

mrknightly: This game is incomprehensible to me. Would someone fill me in as to why it is 0-1?

   Apr-02-19 L Kalvach vs M Drtina, 1986 (replies)

mrknightly: <The17thPawn> A lollipop is a type of sugar candy usually consisting of hard candy mounted on a stick and intended for sucking or licking. There was also a R&R song entitled, "Lollipop." I suppose the pun means that the opening, the Lolli Attack, was "popped," i.e. busted.

Mar-04-19 Lipschutz vs Bird, 1889 (replies)

mrknightly: "Like a bird on a wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir, I've tried in my way to be free." (Leonard Cohen)

   Feb-13-19 E M Green vs P B Weir, 1976 (replies)

mrknightly: The Green Mile.

   Dec-29-18 H Bohm vs A Kochyev, 1977 (replies)

mrknightly: Apparently the name Bohm has an umlaut over the "o". So, the pun only works if pronounced like Inspector Clouseau (Steve Martin version). (-:
