 | | ahmadov: Hold on. This must be a joke. Kg3 in my previous post was a typo. Honestly, I meant Kh3 :-) Sorry for that. |

 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov> Good Nuklu, I've missed these discussions so much... Kg3 is better :)
Kh3 is OK, though; really, the main thing here is to avoid 1.Rh1. Which is not OK :-) |

I have learnt a lot from you! Cheers and Best wishes ahead! Abhinav |

| Mar-31-13 | | kudubux: My good friend <Zahir>! It is April 1 now in my place.
Happy Birthday!
Remember, LIFE BEGINS AT 40! :-) |
 |
| Mar-31-13 | | kudubux: To have our game analysed by the great Finnish Master <Switch> is a pleasure. Not much really going on there, if I were to ask, I just wanted to play a risk-free solid position and you just happen to misplay an otherwise drawish position. |
 |
| Mar-31-13 | | kudubux: <Rich is surely underrated though :-)> Fellow players at our chess club often tell the same thing to me. Lately, I feel like I'm beginning to emulate Ivanchuk's unpredictable style (minus the crazy stuff off the board). One game I'm good, the next I'm patzerish. And the babysitting I'm into right now surely lessens my time for chess practice. By the way, Kiril is nearing 8 months old. :) |
 |
| Mar-31-13 | | kudubux: Speaking of Gameknot, they sent me mail saying I may be cheating because I'm allegedly using multiple accounts on a single computer. I lost games on time because they restricted my account. I'm logging in at Internet cafes. Could it be other Gameknot users use the same computer? That may very well explain the "cheating" allegations. |
 |
Apr-01-13
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov> Happy birthday! :-) <kudubux> Does Kiril know the moves already? I'm very sorry GameKnot has tagged you as a potential cheater. (Why multiple accounts would indicate cheating is a mystery anyhow...) In particular, they seem to think that "kirilism" is you; to be fair, if someone with that handle used your IP I'd probably think it was you, too. Let's hope you can clear the matter and get your playing rights back. In the meantime, you can always play us here :) |

 | | WannaBe: What?!!? It's your Boithday!!! Didn't we just had one last year??? Happy Boithday to you, my friend.
(Thanks to <brankat>'s previous post!) |

 | | ahmadov: <SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov> Good Nuklu, I've missed these discussions so much...> Yes, indeed, these discussions are very interesting and useful. I am happy that you also miss them :-) |

Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: <Switch><Kh3 is OK, though; really, the main thing here is to avoid 1.Rh1. Which is not OK :-)> Yes, even though I cannot properly explain why 1.Rh1 is not good, I would intuitively reject that move. I would think the rook should rather deal with g column than being engaged with the defence of a pawn when the King could do that. |

Dear Abhinav, thank you for coming here and posting your wishes! I thought you abandoned this forum for good. HOw good you are back!I also learned a lot from you and I believe you will remain one of my best virtual friends until the end. I wish we have a chance to meet at least once, to upgrade this friendship into a real one in the future. Best regards, Zahir |

 | | ahmadov: <kudu><Remember, LIFE BEGINS AT 40! :-)> I think you are right. At least, this is true for me, because I have certain resolutions for my life after 40. |

Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: <Switch><kudubux><Does Kiril know the moves already?> Well, I think if Rich wants to see his son as a professional chess player, he needs to at least introduce chess pieces to Kirill already at this age. |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: <WannaBe: What?!!? It's your Boithday!!! Didn't we just had one last year???> No, last year I missed it, I caught it this year :-) |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov: I would think the rook should rather deal with g column than being engaged with the defence of a pawn when the King could do that.> Please say the "g" was another typo :-) |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: No, it was not. I think g column could also be explored as a potential weakness, as there is no White pawn there and King could be exposed. Don't you agree? |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: As far as I can see, the rook has no future on the g-file. Open files are like roads - they help you get places, but other than that they're not all that great - and the g-file is a blind alley leading nowhere :-) Black can't realistically hope to get anything going on the g-file, as that would require way too many tempi (...Qe7, ...Kh7, ...Rg8, ...f6, ...g5 - and even that likely wouldn't be enough) and weaken his own position too much. And White can't realistically hope to get anything going on the g-file since there are no targets whatsoever; it's very easy to protect the pawn on g6. All the action is going to happen on the queenside and possibly in the center. Thus, the rook almost certainly belongs on the c-file, where it can really start going places :-) |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: Maybe you are right. I was deluding myself with a belief that paired rooks on the g file, then a captured enemy pawn on that file since the f file pawn cannot take the rook because the Queen controls the diagonal end of which there is the black King could be a possible scenario. But I know you would say that by the time the rooks get paired on the g file, White would lose tempo, and Black would gain some. |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Black just plays ...Kh7 and the attack is over :) |
 |
Apr-02-13
 | | ahmadov: Yes, that is true. Sometimes I lose because I am too optimistic about positions that look tempting, but do not give much play, the one we have just discussed. |
