As of today (8/20/4) my rapid rating at instantchess.com is 1348 (won 9 lost 20). I live in a suburb of Philly PA. I find chess to be a wonderful mental challenge. The basics are simple, but the variations complex. Some day I hope to be an expert. I could easily study this game 40 hours or more per week if I had that much free time. Chess is becoming like an addiction for me. I want to learn and play until I feel comfortable calling myself an expert, but that could take years at the rate I am going. I enjoy other things, however. I find languages, zoology, astronomy, astrology, religion, politics and history to be interesting to study and enjoy various types of music. Of all animals I find the bat to be the most interesting. I like ancient and medieval history. I find Presidential Politics and the history of it interesting, especially looking the way the electoral college works (which it doesn't always work, in my opinion).

I HAVE been online since 1996.

I have a discussion site, but it hasn't been active in a while.. maybe some day.. I wouldn't mind discussing any of the interests listed above on my site.

Here is a link to my chess(discussion)board which nobody else(so far) has visited:

athyn: This is how I tend to play if I am white. This is one of three games with the following moves... 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 4. d3 Bc5 5. Bxc6 dxc6 6. Be3 Qe7 (or qd6 with the same result) 7. Bxc5 Qxc5 8. Nc3 This seems to be a good opening for white. Wins in this game and draws
