Thanks for two great tracks! I knew "10th Avenue Freezeout" because I know <Born to Run> well. I think it's one of those great albums that doesn't have a single track on it that isn't great.

I love the live Tom Petty- I hadn't hear that one before. He is so creative and his band is always so tight eh?

I love him.

This isn't a live track, but it's my favorite "music video" of all time, and it just happens to be by Tom Petty. He looks so sinister in this one. I like the Sitar too:

I'm fine thanks and you? Great to hear from you man.

My "chess career" is going downhill fast and picking up steam. I'd love to watch you and <Tbon> play a good long game though.

Here is a track for you, again a music video and again one of my favorites:

"Driver 8" the version with Michael Stipe's introduction in it:

Travis Bickle: <jessicafischerqueen> Jess, that Alice in Wonderland idea for Tom Petty's 'Don't Come Around Here No More' video is a favorite of mine as well!

Here's probably my 2nd favorite Tom Petty track.

Breakdown - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

I was feeling so crappy about my terrible "chess career" that I played a tournament today on with my top secret "Vera Menchik" account.

Though I hadn't played a tournament in months, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in good condition, and enjoying the games.

I got the "Silver Medal", and I missed the Gold Medal by booting this position here:

I am Black to move here, with a totally won position- If I won this game, I'd be 5 on 5 and the tournament winner:

So I played the daring "hang your queen" ploy:

I had tons of time on the clock too. I was so excited by the prospect of winning the tournament that I moved without first doing the "checklist."

1. Be sure not to hang your Queen

I like this "Breakdown" a lot too, and I never heard it before.

Did <Tom Petty> make a thousand records? He is prolific. I like his voice the best.

Here is Tom live doing one of the "Traveling Willburys" songs, with a fine spoken introduction:

Travis Bickle: Here's the different guitar solo's George Harrison did on the song 'Let It Be'. For the 45 rpm release George used a fender guitar that sounded almost acoustic which he actually erased after making the single with George Martin as Producer. While mixing the song Martin still could hear that Fender version that bled over to another track, which he used.

Let It Be - guitar solo version 1

After the Let It Be film session wrapped prematurely because of bitter in-fighting, George re-recorded his guitar solo for the album with his Gibson named 'Lucy' which has a very dynamic electric sound who now Producer Phil Specter used after George Martin left the project.

Travis Bickle: Jesus Was An Only Son - Bruce Springsteen

lyrics -
Well Jesus was an only son
As he walked up Calvary Hill
His mother Mary walking beside him
In the path where his blood spilled

Jesus was an only son
In the hills of Nazareth
As he lay reading the Psalms of David
At his mother's feet

A mother prays, "Sleep tight, my child, sleep well
For I'll be at your side
That no shadow, no darkness, no tolling bell,
Shall pierce your dreams this night."

In the garden at Gethsemane
He prayed for the life he'd never live
He beseeched his Heavenly Father to remove
The cup of death from his lips

Now there's a loss that can never be replaced
A destination that can never be reached
A light you'll never find in another's face
A sea whose distance cannot be breached

Well Jesus kissed his mother's hands
Whispered, "Mother, still your tears,
For remember the soul of the universe
Willed a world and it appeared."
