The Cubs have been playing great baseball since the AllStar break. We have won like 14 of our last 17 games! I think it has to do with better pitching from our starters & getting some of our injured players back. Players like Dexter Fowler our center fielder & lead off man, (bats first), & George Soler our utility outfielder & power hitter. ; P
|Aug-18-16|| ||Travis Bickle: <harrylime> Yes I do hear similarities i that Macca tune & The Korgis song.|
The Ramones Beat on the Brat is a Top 10 song of theirs!

|Aug-22-16|| ||User not found: I get my notifications straight away mate so I got your email immediately. I don't know what's gone on there but don't worry your secrets safe with me... I won't tell anyone you sleep with dwarf women, lol. I'm only joking, don't worry. And I can't wait to see the Duran film. Usher's playing Sugar Ray Leonard and even though he looks just like him I'll be shocked if he pulls it off. Anyways.. Didn't I tell you that boxing channel would work? I'm really proud of that :)|
|Aug-23-16|| ||Travis Bickle: <User not found> Congrats on your boxing channel! About that Duran Leonard film, I'm always skeptical about movies about famous stars, be it actors, athletes or musicians. |
You just can't duplicate a big stars charisma, talent & larger than life persona.
I seen Will Smith try to play Muhammad Ali and he just couldn't do it imo. The guy they had play Joe Frazier was so miscast he looked like an ape from a zoo! lol
They made a movie about the comedy trio The Three Stooges & in the reviews they said, you'd be better off to stay home & watch the old Stooges films. ; P

99% of the time I would agree with that but...
<I seen Will Smith try to play Muhammad Ali and he just couldn't do it imo.>
Really?? The man deserved an Oscar! I didn't think anyone could ever play Mohammed Ali but Will Smith gets it more or less perfect. He has a different kind of charm to Ali but it still shines through. I watched that film the day Ali died so I'm not going off a 10 year old memory, I thought Smith was excellent as Ali. I'd also give the film 8/10. I'll check what Rotten Tomatoes say about it.
|Aug-23-16|| ||User not found: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ali/
Check out the trailer? I got goosebumps! I think Will Smith does a brilliant job and even though there's probably gonna be more Ali biopics it'll be hard to beat this one.
|Aug-23-16|| ||Travis Bickle: <User not found> Unf thx for the link but the problem with sites like Rotten Tomatoes is most of the people voting aren't old enough to have seen the real Ali so they're easily influenced. Just like if they made a Beatles film. The young people would fall in love with The Beatles music on the big screen & never having seen the real deal would say it's 90% or higher. No one could pull off the impact, charisma, personalities or originality that The Beatles had on pop culture at that moment in time. That would be like somebody trying to play John Wayne.|
|Aug-23-16|| ||User not found: Well that's also partly true. Like if I watch a Beatles biopic, straight away I hate them. I know the actors can't pull it off but I wasn't even born when The Beatles split. I don't have to have been around at the time to know if a bio's crap or not. As for the Ali biopic I get what you're saying but I really enjoyed it. The Beatles, Mohammed Ali, Presidents, Kings, Queens, just iconic people in general are hard to impersonate onto the big screen. |
They'll never be a good Beatles one, not for me anyway. It should be left alone now. I know you won't be looking forward to it but I can't wait for the Oasis one this year. I think it's a documentary, I'm not quite sure but I'll be watching it :)
