| hms123: <peter> I enjoyed meeting you and Yuri and Susan and the others. The kids were really nice and fun to play with OTB. Congratulations on the great showing by your group. It is a tribute to the work that you and the other coaches do. |

| zanshin: <chesstoplay: Thanks for running the Rinus Scholarship! > <Peter> You're welcome and thanks for the vote. Since the Team is not exactly breaking down my forum doors to vote, I'll have to post another reminder and will probably start bugging some members in their forums for their votes. No real rush yet as <kutz> is still on vacation - so plenty of time before the May 8 selection. |

| Artar1: Hi <Peter>,
To tell you the truth, I really feared the worse, but I am very relieved to learn that you are largely okay. While I don't want to delve into your condition because of privacy concerns, I surely hope you are getting the medical attention you need. I'm sure you have already considered hiring a chess assistant to help manage your highly successful chess team, right? Maybe you can find someone with your level of passion and commitment to take on some of the day-to-day operations? Let me congratulate you and your team for their success at the SuperNationals! What an achievement! You must be very proud of your kids; I know that I would be. A fantastic result I must say. You mentioned teaching in your last post. Do you mean teaching chess or high school subjects, or both? Teaching is a tough job, even if you are teaching chess to your team members after school. It requires stamina, high energy to be effective, and a considerable amount of preparation for each lesson. That's enough to tire anyone. We're doing fine. No fires yet in California, but it's early. I came down with the flu; no biggie really, but I do applaud our government and the government of Mexico for taking swift and decisive action to limit its spread. I understand how it could be very devastating to children. Keep in touch and I hope you're back on your feet soon. Your friend,
Greg |

Dear <Peter / chesstoplay>,
my best recovery wishes to you.
Take good care and keep up your (good) spirit despite setbacks. "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter" (Mark Twain) |

Dropping by to wish you all the best.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." (Chinese proverb) To name one thing, you did so in spreading chess nicely. As one of the fishermen/women here I admit that (many times) the indeed sad absence of someone/something you enjoyed clarifies the significance best. Hence come back soon, too much enlightment is causing headaches ;) Missing your good spirits here Mister! |
