|Feb-15-18|| ||WannaBe: Sign up here for CG.com tournament (on GameKnot)!!|
|Feb-15-18|| ||Boomie: First rule of chess: Never get hustled by a guy named Boris.|
|Feb-15-18|| ||Schwartz: I want to play.|
|Feb-15-18|| ||zborris8: <Schwartz> You're in. Post your Gameknot user name (schwartz?) and I'll add you to the roster!|
<Boomie> Pay me 5 dollars and I'll give you pawn and move. We'll go double-or nothing on the second game.
<WannaBe> You're in, and thanks for the booster! :D
<technical draw> You're in!
<diceman> Gameknot is a high-quality correspondence website site with other formats available.
<keypusher> I've added the information in the profile. Hopefully it's clear enough. If not, please let me know!
|Feb-15-18|| ||Big Pawn: Is this a tournament where everyone plays everyone else?|
7 days per move?
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: Yes, seven days plus 5, max 15.|
|Feb-16-18|| ||keypusher: Thanks, zborris. Yes, I'd like to play (I'm keypusher on gameknot also).|
|Feb-16-18|| ||Schwartz: I'm jackals.|
|Feb-16-18|| ||diceman: I'm in. I'm <rollthebones>|
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: <diceman> Don't know if you need min games played for mini-tournaments... May want to double-check that.|
|Feb-16-18|| ||diceman: min games played?|
|Feb-16-18|| ||zborris8: <Big Pawn> Yes and yes. |
Each player will have 2 games against everyone else, one white/one black. Four simultaneous games against 4 different players will commence at the start of the tournament, and a new game will automatically load upon each completed game. Players will have 7 days to make their move plus a Fischer increment of 5 days.
<Schwartz> You're in.
<diceman> You're in.
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: <diceman> Yeah, used to be, maybe still is, GK have restrictions on new players with unestablished ratings.|
There are certain games/tournament that is off-limits until 5(?) games have finished, and some initial rating is known. Then again, rules may have changed since I first signed up years and years and years ago.
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: Maybe I am confused on the 20-games to get a solid rating vs number of games played requirement...|
Just went through the FAQ and there was nothing on new players joining mini-tournament (privately hosted, non-public).
|Feb-16-18|| ||zborris8: There is a setting that allows me to eliminate rating and tournament experience criteria. But there is one stipulation left... |
Unable to invite
Player <rollthebones> cannot participate in mini-tournaments at this time because: At least 6 completed rated games are required.
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: I wonder if <diceman> plays 6 games of blitz/rapid would solve this problem.|
|Feb-16-18|| ||zborris8: <Schwartz> and <diceman> - I'm sending out challenges to help get you guys up to 6 rated correspondence games. Live Blitz games are unrated, but you can always play a <Wannabe> blitz/rapid time-control for the correspondence games.|
|Feb-16-18|| ||WannaBe: To help out, I also sent challenges to the 2 newcomers|
|Feb-17-18|| ||diceman: OK, it says this:
<At least 3 wins in any rated games and 6 completed rated games total are required for participation in mini-tournaments (i.e. a provisional rating is required).>
Just so I understand.
<WannaBe: To help out, I also sent challenges to the 2 newcomers>

I assume that means you are going to "throw" games so I meet the requirements?
If you're good I may never get in. :)
It says 3 days per move.
I assume that's max and we can make many within the same day?
Is there a certain length of moves which qualifies as a game?
|Feb-17-18|| ||WannaBe: Length. I think as long as its not a timeout and the game have a conclusion W/L/D|
You can make as many moves as you want in a day. If your opponent does the same and helps out by making a lot of moves.
Just (Grandmaster) drew a game after 9 moves. 1.5 days after it started.
|Feb-18-18|| ||diceman: OK, I think I've met the requirements
to be put into the tournament.
|Feb-20-18|| ||zborris8: We're almost set to start.|
|Feb-20-18|| ||FSR: Sorry - I asked Bill Brock and he didn't recall the position you were talking about.|
|Feb-21-18|| ||Nisjesram: Valued and respected rogoff kibitzer :
1)yesterday , I refuted omv argument - once again.
2)earlier , <big pawn> used to say that god of omv argument is same as god of classical theism - Abrahamic god. And yesterday, <big pawn> , in effect , admitted that that was not so that god of omv argument may die one day and god of omv argument is not running affairs of world and world is running spontaneously on its own without any intervention/oversight.
3)I urge you people to ask <big pawn> to provide a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer to following three questions :
Question no 1 : may god of omv argument die one day ? Just a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer please.
Question no 2 : is god of omv argument running the affairs of world ? A simple 'yes' or 'no' answer please?
Question no 3: does omv argument imply that it is not possible that world is running spontaneously on its own without intervention/supervision/oversight ? A simple 'yes' or 'no' answer please.
