 | | sisyphus: Dzagnidze - Fierro was back and forth, but equal before 53...Qxb3, when Black got punished for pawn-grabbing with her king exposed. |
Oct-07-09 | | DCP23: <sisyphus: Kovanova beat Sebag in a Najdorf.> Go Baya! |
Oct-07-09 | | adair10: Women played today? The organizers gave them one rest day less than to men even though women tournament is one round longer. |
Oct-07-09 | | Ladolcevita: <adair>
Thus they could end in the same day? |
Oct-07-09 | | weisyschwarz: Actually, Kovanova drew with Mkartchian in a game the latter should have won. Seabag lost to Zhao Xue. |
Oct-07-09 | | dumbgai: <Ladolcevita: Yidiz lost again,so now is 0/9....> Freakin' hilarious! This requires some sort of special talent. |
Oct-07-09 | | Ladolcevita: <dumbgai>
Well, what surprises me is that now I somehow feel a bit more curious about whether she could remain "perfect"than who would win the tournament....
Well,at least for a minute... |
Oct-07-09 | | Gotank: But wait, once Martha and Betul plays, at least one person's streak will be broken, be it the winless one or the losing one. Have there been any other tournaments with similar results by one of the players? |

 | | sisyphus: <weisyschwarz: Actually, Kovanova drew with Mkartchian in a game the latter should have won. Seabag lost to Zhao Xue.> ? I was talking about today's games. Mkrtchian – Kovanova was last week. Zhao Xue – Sebag is tomorrow. http://nanjing2009.fide.com/tourvie... |
Oct-07-09 | | ingberg: Batkhuyag Munguntuul has chickenpox! She's wearing mask and gloves! http://blog.sina.com.cn/chessnews |
Oct-07-09 | | Astardis: I'm far from disrespecting anyone but what exactly is the use of Yildiz playing in this tournament? 0/9 is ridiculous in a women's tournament (no, I am NOT disrespecting female chess players). If they wanted a punching ball they could have just given a bye to each player and invite Maya Ch. or Pia C. instead. At least that would have given the tournament some class. What we have now is a more or less inevitable Chinese player fighting for first place with Sebag and Dzagnidze - both fine players but hardly candidates for first place in a serious event. |

Oct-08-09
 | | sisyphus: Xu Yuhua beat Kovanova in 31. Munguntuul - Dzagnidze is a rook ending, I think a draw at this level. |
Oct-08-09 | | whiteshark: <ingberg> She will play on a computer link to chess board against Dzagnidze. And today is her 22nd birthday. |
Oct-08-09 | | dumbgai: Yildiz lost again today, to Mkrtchian. That's 0/10... |
Oct-08-09 | | Wild Bill: If I could make a modest proposal, tonight's live game should be Sebag-Xu. At least there's something riding on that one. |
Oct-08-09 | | percyblakeney: <tonight's live game should be Sebag-Xu. At least there's something riding on that one> Carlsen can pass 2800 and score the highest Elo performance ever in a tournament, probably more people interested in that than in how far behind Xu Sebag will finish... |
Oct-08-09 | | dumbgai: What about Yildiz-Fierro for the live game? There's a lot riding on that one. Not that it matters to me, since I don't have premium. |
Oct-08-09 | | percyblakeney: <What about Yildiz-Fierro for the live game?> I'm a bit curious about that one, but a draw sounds probable, maybe a short one. |
Oct-08-09 | | percyblakeney: Fierro has disappointed a bit compared to the first GP tournament. There she won five games, against among others Cramling and Chiburdanidze, and finished ahead of the latter and Stefanova. |
Oct-08-09 | | DCP23: <percyblakeney: <What about Yildiz-Fierro for the live game?>
I'm a bit curious about that one, but a draw sounds probable, maybe a short one.> No way! That would spoil a rare perfect showing by Yildiz. |
Oct-08-09 | | percyblakeney: <No way!>
Their previous game doesn't bode too well for Yildiz... B Yildiz vs M Fierro-Baquero, 2009 |
Oct-09-09 | | dumbgai: Yildiz has a pretty good position against Fierro. She may win. But on the other hand it's not the first good position she's had in this tournament. |
Oct-09-09 | | DCP23: Wow, Betul actually won today. Celebrations are all over Turkey I imagine. Plus in the Northern Cyprus. |
Oct-09-09 | | percyblakeney: Nice that she got a win in the end. |
Oct-09-09 | | redwhitechess: nana - zbao xue is K N vs K B draw. so xu yuhua is the winner ! |
